About me

I completed my PhD at Rutgers University, where I was advised by Emina Soljanin. I also completed an MS at Rutgers under the supervision of Manish Parashar. During graduate school, I did two summer internships, first at Argonne National Lab, Lemont, IL and then at IBM Research, Yorktown Heights, NY. After PhD, I worked as a Senior Software Engineer in the dynamic compilation and execution team at MathWorks. I also worked for half a year at WINLAB as a Postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Dipankar Raychaudhuri.


The goal of my research work is to make distributed storage and computing systems faster and more robust to runtime changes. With this goal in mind, I have been working in both systems development and theoretical analysis. On the development side, I design and build prototype systems, and validate their performance by running experiments. On the theory side, I derive quantitative insight on the problem and try to find solutions with provable guarantees. For theoretical analysis, I rely on probabilistic modeling and tools from applied probability such as queueing theory and reinforcement learning.
